CONTEMPORARY ART FROM TOP INTERNATIONAL EMERGING WOMEN ARTISTS

Our emphasis is on our artists being Intimists. That is we only represent artists who work alone without assistants, who's work has intimacy, that we can feel the person behind it, the touch and the closeness, someone's hand, that individual touch. As communication now days is all on the phone and the Internet, we represent artists who reach out for something more personal.

EVA SILBERKNOLL

is a mixed media artist who was born in Austria in 1976. In 2010 she graduated as a Master of Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Photography, collages and travelling the world are her passions.

Her photographic range of interest covers the daily life on the road, journeys and staged scenes. Art enables her to express all the ideas and impressions, from still lives to mixed

media collages and video installations. She started her creative career in the fashion business, therefore she likes to work in interdisciplinary way by using colors and textiles. During her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts she got to know many different techniques which she enjoys to combine now: photographs are printed on the canvas she paints, writes or sews over. She dis- and reassembles her photographs and footages into pieces of their own. “I love to create a surreal visual experience, for which I preferably use this special technique. By combining photography, collage and painting, I tell stories which are close to my heart - always colorful, bold and funky.”

Eva Silberknoll exhibits her work internationally, e. g. in Mexico, Italy and at the Armory Show in New York. She is also preselected for upcoming exhibitions in Switzerland, Poland and Mexico. Together with the locals of Krumpendorf, a village in Austria, she created a video installation shown at different public spaces this spring.

ANDREA CASSADY

Venezuelan photographer who left Caracas when she was 10 years old to start a new life

with her family in Madrid, Spain.

It was in Madrid, a few years later, where her interest in photography was awakened,

experimenting for two years with different disciplines in the CEV “School of Communication, Image and Sound”.

Her first tries were in analog format, spending hours in the laboratory, studying and learning

chemical processes, while becoming more passionate about this art.

Since 2010, she traveled around many cities as Moscow, Prague, Budapest, Vilnius among others, developing skills and techniques to shape her own style.

Currently, she lives in Barcelona where she has resided for more than five years, working especially the instant format. That is exactly the format she is exhibiting. The Polaroid Land camera is her working tool, giving a more exclusive character to the pictures.

Her work shows us the presence of female figures from an intimate, almost solitary perspective, away from the hustle and bustle of the urban life. It reflects the essence of the moment playing with shadows and light, keeping the spectator guessing while threading the fine line between gloominess and a lighthearted warmth. During this year, Andrea is taking part in a collective female exhibition organized by Polaroid of The Day that is traveling around several cities. As well, she will join the ISO600 festival to be held in Bologna, Italy at the end of the year.

CORA NIMTZ

Working with gouache on aquaboard, she creates hazy dream worlds that echo a distinctly southern landscape. Often the central femme figures wear expressions that are stoic and unbothered, as they are thrust into this familiar yet futuristic absurdity. Vibrant colors veil darker and perplexing themes of the south. On the surface raw sexuality, humor, and resilience can be found in her work. With deeper observation themes of pollution, uncertainty, and the challenges of sexism rise as uncomfortable truths.

She says she is a southern mutt, growing up between Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and finally attending college at LSU from her undergraduate in anthropology and history. After spending a year in China teaching and studying calligraphy, she have come back to the South to make New Orleans her home. She have been creating art her whole life, but her relationship with her craft intensified after living abroad. The solitude of being alone in a foreign country, the colors and vivid images of Guangzhou China, and the discipline she learned studying calligraphy inspired her to hone her craft as a way to express herself to the people back home.

CAITLIN FLOOD-MOLYNEUX

would consider herself a multidisciplinary artist as she refuses to stay in one style of working.

Caitlin has have been doing art since a young age and has studied in many different fields of art also. Caitlin has just finished a Masters in Fine Art. Her Degree was a collage of different things as she first started as a Artist Designer Maker where she made Abstract Ceramic Sculptures, then for her second year of university she studied Fine Art in the Bergen Academy of Art and Design in Norway where she also lived for a year which her love of abstract landscape painting grew stronger. Whilst being in Norway Caitlin had a few exhibitions in which her work had a great response from people and has been exhibiting in around Cardiff where she is currently living.

In Flood's current practice she is exploring her first responses and impressions of landscapes / Cityscapes and the experience she has being within them and also the experience she has whilst painting. Flood's work began with a trip to Hamburg, Germany, while there she  did various drawings from all the places she explored.  Flood explores aerial views of the city within her paintings and expresses the emotions felt there in her work.

Flood says "Hamburg was a real escapism experience for me it was a place where I could really switch off and, I always found that to be the case when travelling, painting and being within landscape. The source of my paintings come from many different experiences I have had to face in my life, things coexisting at the same time to make the paintings what they are. Going away in order to return."
